Green Grocer Gansta. Students learn filmmaking, life skills, make PSA through program
A gangster green grocer, a bag of salty and fatty Grossitos and a star athlete named Bernie are all part of a new campaign promoting nutrition and fighting obesity.
Those ideas came from students in a Brandywine High program called Advancement Via Individual Determination, a college-readiness system focused on the least-served students in the academic middle.
With mentorship from Gordon DelGiorno of Film Brothers and Lou Gatti of Short Wars, they participated in a four-week after-school film and life skills internship, underwritten by the six Delaware ShopRite stores owned by the Kenny family.
